Ageless Active: Travel Planning Today
Happy Hump Day. Last week we were in Texas helping our Daughter and SIL as they went on a much-needed and much-anticipated vacation to Mexico for their anniversary. It was delayed twice due to Covid. We were so happy that they got some downtime, without their little ones in tow.
We had a great time with our grands even though our three-year-old granddaughter got the flu which had run its course through their family. (Oddly enough our NC kids had it, too.) I have to say that after being a nurse at all hours of the day and night and our move at the end of April, Mr. Silver and I are worn out.

Vacation 〰️
Speaking of vacations, Mr. Silver and I have not taken a vacation together in over five years. Lucky for us, that is changing. We have been planning a trip to Italy, which turned into a cruise and will now include Italy and the Greek Isles.
We are working with Mann Travels, A Frosch Company on this trip, and Celebrity Cruise Lines. We have learned through this process that today more than ever, a Travel Advisor is essential. And since we have not used a Travel Advisor (outside of corporate travel), I want to share what has been so important to us during this planning period:
They have the relationships in all corners of the world
They know how to navigate all of the changing rules and medical needs: vaccines, tests, and paperwork
They seek to understand our preferences and our why
They take on the endless “To Do” list and we get to show up with bags packed
They call you back and are proactive
They make you a VIP, which who does not want to be made to feel special
And last but not least, Travel Advisors don’t cost you more money
Travel is on the rise and what we found is that Mann Travels knows travel. With over 40 years in the business, they can help plan any vacation including finding discounts on flights and hotels. They are located in Charlotte, however, help travelers all over the country because they are always a phone call away. If you plan an upcoming trip, I would highly suggest reaching out to Mann Travel here. We worked with Jeff Jacobi, who has been in the business for over 12 years and plans over 300 vacations a year on average.
Our itinerary includes spending two days in Rome once we arrive and then will be boarding the Celebrity Edge for our 7-night Italy & Greek Islands cruise. We cannot wait! Once we return to Rome, we will be visiting a small town east of Rome in the Abruzzo region of Italy, visiting with family, and seeing where my Grandpa and Grandma were from. From there we are back in Rome for one night, having dinner with family, and then returning home the next day.
