How to Brighten your Day
I hope everyone is OK and safe. We’ve all been affected by this pandemic in different ways and I pray that your family and friends are well, too.
This girl sure needed a pick-me-up this week. Did you? Since bright colors always brighten my day, I wore this soft knit, pink top and white jeans and almost immediately my mood improved. Ollie even noticed it. He jumped up and gave me a smooch, sweet guy!
I think it’s important that we stay positive and continue to look for the joy in our daily lives. Here’s a few things I’m doing that have really helped me, especially when feeling a bit “blue” or in a rut.
Sticking to a routine, I start every morning with my prayers on my front porch
Exercising to get those endorphins going
Getting dressed early in the day with a touch of makeup and hair done, (more or less)
Listening to positive podcasts or reading books
Limiting TV and (especially the news) time
Volunteering; I love delivering Meals on Wheels
Taking walks
Wearing bright colors
Planning meals, trying new recipes and sharing the cooking with Mr. Silver
Staying connected with family and friends via FaceTime, Zoom or the newest one to me; Houseparty
Getting enough rest
If you have any ideas to add, please let me know in the comments below. Here in the Carolinas we have a few more weeks of quarantine but I expect most of us are not going to rush back to the lives we had before. Except that both Ollie and I are in desperate need of hair cuts.
Thank you to Soft Surroundings for sponsoring this post. My top and white jeans are available from there and are 40% off, links below.
As always thank you for reading.
